History:
Harry James Potter always has and will be known as the boy-who-lived. At the age of one he was able to use the love of his mother to defeat the Dark Lord Voldemort. Harry has always resented the fact that he is idolised and celebrated for something that he cannot remember and didn't actually do.
Harry's younger years were the worst imaginable. Left by Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall to live with his Muggle aunt and uncle, Harry didn't even learn he was a Wizard until one month before he was due to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the Dursley's house, asking questions was banned. He was told that his parents had died in a car crash and that was how he ended up with the scar on his head.
Harry was forced to do what could almost be described as slave labour. He would have to cook and clean and do household chores, none of which his lazy cousin had to do. But, Harry being Harry simply put up with it and kept his mouth shut, never letting on to the adults that he was being treated with anything but indifference at the Dursley's house. It was on the same night that he turned eleven that he was given his first real birthday cake and learned from none other than Rubeus Hagrid, that he was a Wizard, and a famous one at that.
Harry's time at Hogwarts was hectic and to an extent, manic. He was constantly up late doing some homework or breaking one rule or another. He got along with most people, except his Potions Professor, Severus Snape who seemed to harbour some hatred for Harry before he had even met the boy. During his time at Hogwarts Harry rescued the Philosopher's Stone from the grasp of Voldemort, became the youngest person to play Quidditch in a Century ((or Decade)), was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin, rescued Ginny Weasley from Tom Riddle's diary, killed a Basalisk, learned of his Godfather's innocence, learned to conjure a Patronus in his third year, took part in the perilous Tri Wizard Tournament and fought Death Eaters in the Ministry of Magic.
The death of Sirius Black, his godfather, still weighs heavily on him, but he prefers to think that Sirius wouldn;t be happy if he was sitting around sulking, so he is getting on with life.
Personality:
Harry likes to be alone. People think he is pulling away from them and shutting himself away, but to Harry it's nothing like that. He will tell people what's bothering him when he wants to, but the thing is, often he doesn't know exactly what is bothering him, so he likes to take a step back, curl up, and think things through before he talks about things with people. Harry's persona has one major flaw in it, his temper and his ability to jump straight to conclusions. These two traits often end up with him getting in trouble and/or helping him solve a problem without meaning to.
Harry has a strange ability to make friends with people. For the most part people are drawn to him and he finds it easy to make friends. He even had a casual conversation with Draco Malfoy before he learned what the boy was about.
He is, also, a very outgoing person. When he's with other people he is able to make wise-cracks and he is generally a happy-go-lucky person who seems to cruise through life, that's why he likes to make time for himself, alone, to reflect. Harry can think on the spot and has a talent for spell work, being able to copy a spell after seeing it used when he puts his mind to it. A mixture of all these things make Harry very skilled on the battlefield, even before he did training.
Character Flaws:
There are, of course, a number of flaws which define Harry. He is described as being intelligent when applied. In other words, Harry seriously lacks intellectual curiosity. He also has a burning temper, almost on par with the legendary Weasley temper but not their yet. Harry's main flaw is, as described by Hermione, his "Hero Complex." He likes to act without analiyzing the situation, something which is jux-diposed against Hermione's more analytical way of handling situations. His hero thing combined with his temper often get him into some serious situations.
