Harry bounded down the main steps, leaving the Castle in his wake. He had finished classes early that day and he needed some time to prepare for the DA meeting that was going to take place later on that evening. He had spoken to Hermione briefly that evening and they had re-written the charter of the DA for all of the members to sign. The punishment for indiscretion had become more severe and the contract now detected minor faults and alerted the DA administration.
The Boy-Who-Lived marched across the lawns, ignoring the stares he was getting, but returning greetings to those he knew either through friendship or those he knew as allies. The situation in the Castle had become rapidly hostile, with the Slytherins attacking anyone who didn't side with them, that was when Hermione and Ron had approached Harry to re-start Dumbledore's Army. And now there were cloak and dagger battles going on behind closed doors. Just the previous night, Harry had been nicked across the back of his calf by a cutting hex. Ron had thrown and Impdiment Jinx over Harry's shoulder after the incident but the perpetrator escaped.
He entered the Quidditch Pitch, through the Gryffindor Captains Office, the small box that contained the Snitch was clutched in his hand. It was time to get away from the rising tension.

Draco was very pleased with himself. He had scheduled his first meeting of the Dark Vipers and had figured out exactly what to start training them on. This year was going to be much more intense. There was so much more at stake and if his people didn't meet his goals, there was going to be trouble. He had gone hunting last night for some Gryffies and had found Weasel and Potter. That had been a bit of fun...hadn't lasted long since he had things to do and had already had his fun with a pair of Hugglepuff second year girls. There was no reason he couldn't take his pleasure in his work and still follow the orders he had been given. No one had seen him, no one could lay any blame on the innocent, rule-following Prefect.
Now he was enjoying another kind of pleasure. Draco had grabbed his broom after his last class and headed for the Pitch. It had been Defense Against the Dark Arts class, so Professor Snape had let him out before the others. He knew Draco didn't need much learning in that subject. The Snitch flew towards the ground and Draco dove for it. He pulled up at the last moment, skimming the ground and loving the rush of feeling with the daring dive. Straightening out his flight, he saw Potter coming on to the Pitch. He turned sharply and circled the Gryffindor. "Potter....I can't decide who has worse aim, you or Weasel. He might want to try a stronger spell than a Jinx if he wants to do some damage," he sneered.

Harry laid his broom down on the grass and prepared to release the Snitch. The hairs stood up on the back of his neck and Harry looked up. Something wasn't right. Harry dismissed the thoughts and continued with his preparations, pulling on his gloves. He had heard reports of more than one attack last night, two neutral Hufflepuffs had been cornered. The extent of the attack was unknown, the Hufflepuffs were too afraid to report it to the faculty or to answer any of the questions that Ginny had asked them. It seemed that they were afraid of being seen with any members of the DA.
Harry opened the box that he kept his Snitch in, a present from Remus Lupin on Harry's last Birthday. It was silver, unlike the usual golden colour, and had "Mssrs Moony, Padfoot & Prongs" engraved neatly on the side. He rather prefered using his own Snitch for practice, the schools practice balls had taken one too many knocks and bumps for Harry's liking. As was inevitable, Harry wasn't alone on the pitch. He looked up just as Malfoy stated gobbing off about something.
'Hey Ferret face,' Harry replied. 'Wether his aim is bad or not, a simple Jinx appeared caused you to scurry back to your snake pit.'
